"Yvan Derwéduwé's proposition for the exhibition 'Binary Moments/Moments binaires' consists of the automatic opening and closing (at a regular interval) of the entrance door to the exhibition space. The entrance of the visitors will be dictated by the rhythm of the opening and closing doors.
The work is crucial to the exhibition because it demonstrates its binary rhythm of deceivingly simple contradictions: zero/one, open/closed, on/off, in/out,... The artist has, in other words, reduced the sophisticated digits of the computer era to a fundamental opposition in space and time."
